Greater Frogtown knows that a healthy community must include strong businesses. We are committed to helping grow our business community.

Mixed-use developments. Housing and business can go hand-in-hand, especially in areas with great transportation. The Frogtown Square project, breaking ground in 2009, will provide new senior housing as well as new retail spaces for business.

World Cultures District. The Frogtown neigborhoods have many small businesses, and many of them bring a rich mix of cultures to the heart of Saint Paul's most diverse neighborhood. Greater Frogtown is part of an effort to market our existing neighborhood businesses and increase the draw to University Avenue.

Business retention and growth under Light Rail Transit. The coming Central Corridor Light Rail line should be a benefit for our businesses, but strengthening our business community before and during a long construction process will be key to long-term growth when the line is complete.

Facade improvement program. Great businesses need to look great outside to do well with customers. Our matching grant program can help Dale Street businesses finance the improvements they need.

Retail Attraction. Greater Frogtown provides research and advocacy to bring new retail businesses to our neighborhoods.

There are several new documents related to light rail and parking available, including the Mayor Coleman's response (660 KB .pdf file) and the Metropolitan Council response (412 KB .pdf file) to Greater Frogtown's suggestions to solve the parking issues.

Site selection services. Once a new business is ready to begin, say with the planning help and financing of the Neighborhood Development Center, that business needs a location.
